Web Host
The company with all the stuff (hardware, servers, backups, etc.) needed to register a site on the world wide web. For a price, they register websites on the web so they are open to traffic.
Web Log
A Web log, for the uninitiated, is a popular and fairly personal content form on the Internet. A person’s Web log is almost like an open diary. It chronicles what a person wants to share with the world on an almost daily basis. Commonly known by its slang name, blog.
Web Page
A document, usually written in HTML, that is designed so web browsers can see them. A collection of webpages makes up a website.
Web Space
Web space is also known as disk space. This is the amount of space that a hosting plan lets you use on the hard drive. This is done so a hard drive can be shared with many different people. Even though the space is limited, it is usually plenty for an average website.
WebCrawler
A metasearch engine that is powered by InfoSpace. It combines the top search results from other major search engines.
Webmaster
A person who manages a website(s). Webmasters are the people who take care of a website. (Make sure it is up-to-date, fast, checks links, etc.)
Website
Web pages and other files together make up a website. They all share a single URL address, and are also called web sites.
WWW
WWW is an acronym to shorten the term World Wide Web or the internet. This is a collection of websites all connected to one computer network.
